Our Cyclone Machine Hire 🌪️ — widely known as the Grab a Grand — delivers fast, single-player grab gameplay built around one simple, universally understood challenge: get inside, beat the fan, and collect as much as you can before the clock stops. It headlines our prize-and-grab range alongside the Prize Crane, the Prize Wheel and the Safe Cracker. It’s purpose-built for exhibition stands, product launches, corporate fun days and brand activations across Dublin and Ireland. In October it runs as the Halloween Challenge, one of ten corporate Halloween event ideas built around hire games.
A high-powered fan fills the enclosed cabinet with swirling foam balls, and the player has a fixed 30 seconds to grab them out of the air and post them into the scoretube. There’s no learning curve and no briefing required — guests watch one round and immediately understand the game. Each round is run by a member of your team or a brand ambassador, who gets the player in, starts the countdown, counts the balls in the scoretube and resets for the next person. On standard settings the machine handles around 60 plays per hour, accounting for the realistic time it takes to get each player in and out and count the score.
The enclosed cabinet is what makes the game work on a busy floor — everything happens in full view, the crowd watches the player scramble against the fan, and most spectators stay to take their own turn. The cabinet has a compact 1.3m × 1.3m footprint and stands 2m tall, but allow roughly 2.5m wide × 2.2m deep × 2.6m high of operational space, and check ceiling height in advance, as lower-ceilinged venues can rule the machine out.
As standard the game runs on foam balls, supplied in a choice of eight colours. For activations that need a closer tie to the campaign, the machine can instead be loaded with branded tokens, prize vouchers or — as some clients have chosen — real cash. The cabinet is a substantial unit — 130cm wide, 2m tall and 70kg — so please flag any narrow doorways, stairs, lifts or long carry distances in advance, and confirm the venue has at least 2.6m of ceiling height in the operating area.
We operate nationwide across Dublin and Ireland. Delivery, setup and collection are quoted separately based on your event location and date. No minimum hire period applies.

How does the Cyclone Machine work?

How long does each game last?
Each round is a fixed 30 seconds. The timer is programmed and cannot be changed.
How many guests can play per hour?
On standard settings the Cyclone Machine handles around 60 plays per hour. The round itself is only 30 seconds, but realistic throughput also accounts for getting each player in and out, counting the balls in the scoretube, and resetting for the next person. For busy retail or shopping-centre activations we recommend running a single ball colour — counting is the most time-consuming part of the cycle, and one colour speeds it up noticeably.
What do players grab — balls, tokens or cash?
As standard the machine is supplied with 100 foam balls in a choice of eight colours, included in the hire. It can also be run with branded tokens or prize vouchers, and some clients have used real cash for high-impact activations. If you want to run something other than the standard foam balls, let us know when booking so we can advise on setup.
Is it one player at a time?
Yes — the Cyclone Machine is a single-player game, with one guest inside the cabinet per round. The fast 30-second rounds keep the queue moving despite the single-player format.
Is a cash cube the same as the Cyclone Machine?
Yes. Cash cube, money booth, cash grabber and grab-a-grand all describe this same machine — same product, different names. Suppliers each use their own term, so if you have been quoted for a cash cube or a money booth elsewhere, you are comparing like with like.

How does the branding process work?
All branding is produced in-house by Entertainment Solutions on our own wide-format digital printers. What's the lead time for branded artwork?
2 weeks from artwork supplied. We ask for all artwork files a minimum of two weeks before the delivery date so files can be checked and any changes made. We can sometimes work on a shorter lead time depending on how busy we are — call us on 01 5166 550 to check.
Can branding be reused across multiple events?
Partly. The top hat, door and front panels are printed on foamex and can generally be reused across events. The fan box is vinyl and may need reprinting between events — if your events are within two to three weeks of each other we’ll do our best to retain it, and for regular weekly campaigns over a longer period we’re usually happy to keep it on. Where there are longer gaps we can’t guarantee it, and a reprint and refit would be the only additional branding cost.
Can we arrange print with our own printer?
No — this causes far more problems than it solves. Fitting branding means handling, partly dismantling and reassembling the machine, and an inexperienced printer working around the fan, timer, lighting and electronics is asking for trouble. We run the latest wide-format digital printers and produce the wraps in-house, day in, day out — so the finished machine looks factory-fresh and works exactly as it should.

What are the power requirements?
The machine needs one standard 13amp socket (230V). The fan draws the full 13amps on startup, so it must be a dedicated supply — the socket cannot be shared with any other equipment. Let us know in advance if power is limited at your venue.
How long does setup take?
Approximately 30 minutes. Our team delivers, installs, calibrates and tests the machine before your event begins. Good, clear access on the day keeps setup quick.
Can the Cyclone Machine be used outdoors?
No — the Cyclone Machine is designed for indoor use only and is not weatherproof. For outdoor activations, contact us on 01 5166 550 and we can recommend suitable alternatives from our range.
Does the game need to be supervised?
Yes — the Cyclone Machine must be supervised at all times. Someone needs to manage each player in and out of the cabinet and count the score. Your own team or brand ambassadors can run it after a briefing from us on setup day.
