The starting point — unbranded Prize Crane Machine

The standard unit comes with a clean white cabinet and programmable interior LED lighting. The branding option below adds your brand across every visible surface of the machine at a fixed price.

All branding is produced entirely in-house by Entertainment Solutions. Your design team supplies artwork using our pixel-perfect keyline template and we print, fit and remove it post-event with no lasting marks on the machine. Lead time is 2 weeks from artwork supplied. For brands wanting a complete activation, we can also provide brand ambassador staffing, on-site event management, backdrops, tension fabric displays, floor decals and bespoke activation structures — one supplier, full activation delivered. Delivery isn't a flat fee, and that's deliberate. A fixed price would mean simple local jobs subsidising the complex ones — quoting per event means you only pay for what your event actually needs.

Every booking includes two journeys — we deliver and install before your event, then return to collect and de-rig afterwards. Where the venue allows, we deliver the day before and collect the day after at no extra charge, so your kit is set up and tested well ahead of doors.

What shapes your quote

Most Dublin deliveries fall between €300 and €350 +VAT, covering both the install and the post-event collection. Simpler central, daytime jobs can be less; nationwide is quoted by distance.

How many people can play the game per hour?

90 plays per hour

On average, each game lasts about 45 seconds. That’s roughly 90 plays per hour running the game on standard settings and only allowing one credit per player.

For events expecting high-volume use, we recommend business-card-style vouchers in the prize capsules — this prevents having to refill capsules and lets them be reused all day.

What are the Win/Payout settings?

These games have several win-control settings:

Standard mode — users have one play per credit, regardless of whether they win.

Win every time mode — users play until they win a prize.

Percentage payout — we also have prize-percentage computers available for higher-value prizes like phones, laptops & electronics, with a win ratio programmable from 5% to 95%.

What's the play mechanism / How does it work?

There are three ways to run the game:

Push to play / credit button — the most popular mechanism, used on 95% of the prize cranes we provide. This is the big white LED button you see in our pictures. Press it to activate a credit, and play away.

Coin mechanism — can be programmed for €1/€2 per play.

Token mechanism — for an unsupervised solution. Tokens are allocated by you to your players, staff or customers, so the machine can be installed unsupervised and isn’t used by anyone without a token. We keep clear tokens in stock; the cost to provide a token mech and clear tokens is €250 +VAT. Custom tokens have a 2–3 week lead time, custom metal tokens 4–8 weeks. Get in touch and we’ll advise on pricing and lead times.

Can you collect and return the game?

Generally this isn’t something we offer. These games have very sensitive electronics, switches and sensors.

If we deliver the game, we guarantee it will work. If we don’t deliver the game, we have no control over how it’s transported and set up. If you opt to move the game yourself and it doesn’t work at your event, it would need to come back to our warehouse for diagnostics and/or repair.

The only time a collect-and-return service makes sense is when a client is planning an activation that needs the game moved around the country for multiple events. In that rare case we require a deposit covering the cost of the game plus the hire and branding — refunded once the game is returned undamaged. Call us on 01 5166 550 to discuss.

Can the game be custom branded?

HELL YEAH! 🎨

When it comes to custom branded games, we’ve been delivering bespoke games to some of the biggest brands in the world for over 10 years!

From the initial enquiry to delivery of your custom game, when and where you need it, you’re in safe hands with Entertainment Solutions. The five-zone custom wrap is €850 +VAT — front panel, both side panels, the interior back wall and the prize chute.

What is the lead time for ordering a bespoke prize crane?

2 Weeks

We ask for all artwork files a minimum of 2 weeks before the delivery date. This gives us plenty of time to check your files and allows for any changes to be made.

We can work on a shorter lead time, but it all depends on how busy we are at the time of your enquiry…

Can we arrange print with our own printer?

❌ NOPE! ❌

This causes way too many problems.

Having a printer — or anyone inexperienced with how these games work — move them around, disassemble them and reassemble them is a recipe for disaster.

Been there, got the t-shirt. There are too many sensors, controls, switches, cables and electronics that could be damaged. We have the latest-generation wide-format digital printers and tooling that let us deliver pixel-perfect games that look like they just rolled off the factory floor. This is what we do, day in, day out — trust us, you do not want the stress of managing this process. 😬

Can we prefill your prize capsules?

YES!

We can pre-fill the capsules with your prizes or merch. This costs €100 +VAT for the full set of 150. Or you can fill them yourself before your event — the 150 capsules come included with every hire.

If you’d like to pre-fill the capsules yourself before your event, you can pick them up at our office or we can courier the empty capsules to you. We fill around 100 capsules per hour.

How many prize capsules does the game come with?

150

It takes 150 capsules to fill the prize crane, and that’s what we provide as standard.

We can provide much larger quantities if required — we keep stock of 3,000+ clear capsules for larger events and festivals.

What size is the claw?

The standard claw used in our crane machines has a max opening of 150mm. This is typically used with our 90mm clear capsules or 4″–8″ soft plush toys like teddy bears.

We also have a hyper claw assembly that allows for much bigger prizes like t-shirts, hoodies, caps and bigger merch — typically 3″–12″ soft plush toys.

What size are the prize capsules?

90mm

The prize capsules in our arcade claw machines are 90mm wide.

If you need to give away prizes that may not fit in a capsule, we can supply business-card-style vouchers for the capsules indicating what prize the player can win. The styling and artwork for these can be provided by your designer.

Can you keep the prize capsules?

Any capsules not returned are charged at €1 per capsule.

There is no charge for capsules provided 90% or more are returned.

What colour capsules are available?

Capsules are available in a clear finish, a half-and-half finish (coloured base with a clear top), or a full-colour finish.

Custom colour capsules can be ordered at an additional €1 per capsule plus shipping, duty & VAT. Lead time on custom colour capsules is 2–6 weeks.

Will our prizes work in the prize crane?

The guidelines for claw size and capsule size are above.

If you have prizes or merch you’re unsure about, pop some in the post and we’ll record a video of them in the machine so you can see exactly how they work.

How long does it take to set up the game?

10 Minutes

When we arrive on-site we connect up the crane gantry and run some quick tests. Once access is good, setup can take as little as 10 minutes.

What are the power requirements for this game?

This game requires a standard 3-pin (13amp) plug within 5 metres of the setup area.

How much space does the machine need?

The machine footprint is 1.9m high × 1m deep × 0.85m wide, plus standing room at the front for the player. It moves on wheels and needs straight, level access from where our vehicle parks through to the setup point — flag any stairs, lifts or long carries in advance.

Can the game be used outdoors?

Prize Cranes are NOT waterproof.

If being set up outside, the game must be in a commercial marquee (not a cheap pop-up tent) with solid level flooring, and it must be covered at all times.

It is absolutely essential that the game is set up on a level surface — the claw will not work on an uneven surface.

These games cannot be moved across grass, gravel or anything other than solid, flat, level ground. The wheels are not made for anything else.

Is the Crane Machine PAT-tested and fully insured?

Yes — every Crane Machine in our fleet is PAT-tested annually and we carry €6.5M public liability insurance as standard. We can supply insurance certificates and PAT-test documentation in advance for venue compliance — flag this when booking and we’ll have everything ready for your event manager or venue.

Can we staff the Crane Machine ourselves or do you supply brand ambassadors?

Both options work. The Crane Machine is straightforward to operate — once we set it up and brief your team, your own staff or brand ambassadors can run it for the day. If you’d prefer a fully managed activation, we can supply trained brand ambassadors to run the game and manage prize distribution. Call 01 5166 550 for staffing quotes.

Do you deliver outside Dublin — Cork, Galway, Limerick, Belfast?

Yes — we deliver across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford, Belfast, and everywhere in between. Delivery costs are quoted per event based on distance and access — typically €300–€350 for Dublin and surrounding counties, with longer journeys quoted by distance. UK and EU events (NEC, ExCeL, Olympia) covered on request.

What happens if the machine breaks down on-site?

It’s rare — but we plan for it. Every Crane Machine is fully tested in the warehouse before delivery and again on-site before your event starts. If something goes wrong during your event, our 24-hour telephone support line is staffed throughout your hire, and our team can dispatch a replacement unit from Dublin in most cases. For high-stakes activations (product launches, major brand events) we can pre-position a back-up unit on standby — ask when booking.
